Supporting Peter’s 150km Walk for Mental Health

Why we're supporting Peter
This October 2026, Peter Morley from our Internal Sales & Procurement team is taking part in One Foot Forward, walking 150km to raise funds for the Black Dog Institute. It's his first time taking part, and he's been building up his stamina since August.
One Foot Forward runs every October during Mental Health Month. People walk, run or move for the 1 in 5 Australians who experience a mental illness each year.
In Peter's own words:
"I'm walking in solidarity this October for Australians affected by mental illness and suicide. You are not alone."
He's also admitted that he normally walks only about 12 steps a day in his office, so 150km is a real challenge.
A cause close to home
Our CEO, Geoffrey Perich, summed up why this matters to all of us:
"150km is a serious commitment, but more importantly, it is in support of a cause that touches far more people, families and workplaces than we sometimes realise. Mental health is something none of us should be uncomfortable talking about, particularly in industries like ours where people can spend long periods away from family and under considerable pressure."
"Well done Pete. A great personal effort for a genuinely worthwhile cause, and you have the full support of all of us at Equipment Placement."
The Black Dog Institute is the only medical research institute in Australia dedicated to researching mental health for all ages. The money raised through One Foot Forward helps put "ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most."
The challenge, in numbers
- 150km – The challenge
- $1,573 – Raised so far
- $1,000 – Original target, already passed
