Equipment update Where Innovation meets Reliability

As 2025 draws to a close, I’ve been reflecting on how far we’ve come, not just as a company, but as an industry. The first quarter of this century has tested us all: financial shocks, pandemics, supply chain chaos, and now the biggest transformation yet, the drive toward decarbonisation and electrification.

Through it all, Equipment Placement hasn’t stood still. We’ve adapted, invested, and continued to push boundaries. If there’s one constant, it’s been change and our ability to meet it head-on. From our roots in service trucks to our growing presence in electrified mine infrastructure, we’re not just witnessing the transition; we’re helping to shape it. Whether it’s the ALRS system rolling into Version 2.0, the next generation of service trucks leaving the Kewdale workshop, or the ongoing evolution of the Nexus platform for mine electrification, innovation has become part of our DNA.

At IMARC this year, the level of interest in Nexus was unmistakable. It’s clear that site electrification isn’t a distant concept, it’s happening now. Cable Truck, represents another major step toward safer, smarter, and more sustainable mining operations as also Mining Escape Chutes, for which we have been appointed the Australian distributor.
My dad always said, ‘Failing to plan is planning to fail,’ and that’s never felt more relevant. We’re planning not just for the next quarter, but for the next quarter century ensuring EPG remains agile, innovative, and united in performance. Thanks for being part of the journey so far, and here’s to an even more exciting year ahead.

This year’s RFDS Air Race was one for the books, once again our own Brian Bondi was right in the thick of it.

Flying as part of the Top Gun III team alongside long-time pilot partner Alan Ryde and co-pilot Kerri, the trio completed a 15 day, 3,800 km journey across Australia’s outback skies. What began years ago as a one-off adventure has clearly become something of an addiction for Brian, but one with purpose: this year’s race raised an incredible $1 million for the RFDS - the highest event total ever recorded.

Team Top Gun III contributed just under $40,000, helped enormously by the generosity of our customers, partners, and friends across the industry.

Your support helps keep the Flying Doctor in the air and their crews safe. It’s a reminder that our industry is built not only on machinery and innovation, but on people, and the communities that support us

We’re pleased to welcome Jason MacNish to the Equipment Placement team as our new General Manager – Sales.

Jason brings more than 30 years of experience across heavy transport, fabrication, manufacturing, and mining equipment. He has built a strong reputation for developing high-performing teams, forming long-term customer partnerships, and delivering practical, technically sound solutions across Western Australia’s resource and industrial sectors.

His leadership style is very much aligned with EP… hands-on, collaborative, and focused on supporting people to succeed. Jason has previously led state and national sales and operations teams, managed OEM partnerships, and driven sustained growth across complex regional markets.

At EP, Jason will take the lead in strengthening our sales structure, lifting our key-account engagement model, and bringing the discipline and commercial consistency needed as we continue our growth journey across service trucks, Nexus, ALRS, FMA cable solutions, and our broader portfolio. We’re excited to have someone of Jason’s calibre join the business. Jason brings a wealth of experience that will benefit all of us. After 14 years with Equipment Placement, Guido Versaico has stepped into the role of Workshop Supervisor.

Guido’s journey has been one of steady progression… workshop tech, field installer, leading hand, and now the person responsible for the heartbeat of our Kewdale operations.

Outside work, Guido’s passion for motorsport continues, where he competes in ¼-scale speedway and has placed 2nd to son Seb at recent National Championships in QLD.

He’s also spent many weekends helping keep John and Brian’s Historic Touring Car Monaro’s running, which probably says more about his patience and resilience than anything else. A well-earned promotion for one of our most committed long-term team members

This fully mine-spec service module represents one of the most capable and high-output builds to come out of the EP workshop.

Engineered for demanding field environments, its integrated fuel, oil and waste systems are designed to maximise efficiency, reduce downtime and improve onsite servicing capability. The module has eight storage areas including one 14,000-litre and seven 800-litre compartments for various fluids. This module is built for serious productivity.

This year’s IMARC conference in Sydney made one thing clear: electrification has moved from future state to active planning for many mining houses. As a team, Geoff Perich, Mark Gream, Monique Corrigan and Michael Murphy met with customers, OEMs and industry partners who are now well into the planning stages of decarbonising their mine-site infrastructure.

The reception to NEXUS was particularly strong. It validated what we’ve believed for some time: the shift to electrified mining is not theoretical, nor is it slow. It’s accelerating, and operators are now actively looking for partners who can help them transition safely and efficiently.

This quarter we hosted EP’s first Executive Round Table, bringing together industry leaders from Sleipner, Novamine and Duratray International. The purpose was simple: an open conversation about the future of equipment supply and what mining customers truly value in their partners. The recurring theme was unmistakable - customers aren’t just looking for equipment anymore. They’re looking for strategic partners who reduce complexity, accelerate productivity, and support the entire lifecycle of their operation. A sincere thank-you to Jukka (Sleipner CEO), Manuel (Novamine Operations Manager) and Pablo (Duratray CTO) for their perspectives. This is the beginning of a stronger, more transparent industry dialogue… something we intend to continue and build upon.
